Portable Digital Photometer

Photometer LX Model: PMLX, (for Labs and Scientists)
Accessories Probes, Receptors, Certification Prices vary

These photometers are small and their sturdy design assures readiness for taking varied light measurements. Used by architects, designers, scientists, and industrial engineers, these units rapidly compare ambient illumination to video screen brightness to determine the suitability of the visual environment. They are also used to measure vehicle headlamps on the assembly line, survey stage lighting or measure a light source or reflecting source. Used for most survey measurements and comparative or receptive light readings and have an approximate match to the (CIE) standard eye response.

Just press the "Measure Button" to get continuous readings; release it, and it freezes the last reading for convenient reference. The "Range Button" adjusts the measurement display for the resolution desired. Approximate size is 4 x 2.8 x 1.2 inches and weighs 4 oz. Spectral sensitivity of the light sensors closely match the C.I.E. photopic response for PhotoMeter LX. This is achieved through the use of a stable silicon photo-diode and three separate optical filters for accurate wavelength response.

EXTRA PRECISE LABORATORY PHOTOMETER LX PhotoMeter "LX" is a precision meter required for scientific and laboratory work. This model utilizes filtered sensors with spectral response tightly calibrated to the C.I.E. Photopic response. The illuminance receptors closely follow the Cosine Law: Relative Sensitivity versus Angle of Illuminance. This "X" version can be adapted and calibrated to the Flexible (12") Fiber Optic Probe PM-12, or Rotating Illuminance Receptor PM-11, or Rigid (1") Fiber Optic Probe PM-10.

Note- All optional accessories must be calibrated to individual PhotoMeters. We recommend ordering accessories at the same time that the meters are ordered. Otherwise, it will be necessary to return the meters to the factory for calibration.
